FAQs

Do I have to register?

We highly recommend registering as many classes fill up and seats are reserved for those register.   Additionally, we cancel classes with less than four registrants, so please make sure to register as you never know when you might be the fourth person.

How do I register?

It’s easy to register for our fun classes!  Simply visit our website and click Calendar.  Choose your location and then hover over the picture of the class you want to attend, and then click on the “Register Now” button.  When you register we will put a pre-authorization on your card (it’s not an actual charge).  When you arrive at class you can pay cash or leave it on the card.   We do charge your card if you no-show or cancel (cancellations would receive a studio credit per our policy).

How far in advance should I register?

Any time before the class is full.  We accept registrations up until all seats for that class are filled.

What are your studio hours?

You can often find some of our fun instructors working on their artwork during the day, however, we don’t keep regular daytime hours so please feel free to call us at 423-833-6028.

What do I bring with me?

Other than your sense of fun, you don’t have to bring a thing…we’ve got everything you need to create your masterpiece! However, you are welcome and encouraged to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy while painting.  Yep, that includes adult beverages, too!  Having a party?  Great!  Feel free to bring pizza, cakes, cupcakes, appetizers or anything else you can think of for your guests.  Please note that we don’t have a kitchen, so we don’t have ice, refrigerators or microwaves.

What if I am running late?

We start our classes promptly at 7pm.  Students arriving more than 30 minutes late will not be admitted and funds will be forfeited.  Students arriving late will be checked in as soon as the instructor is available but will need to catch up on their own as the instructor will need to keep the class going.

What if I have never painted before?

No problem!  Our classes are designed for all levels, from those who’ve never held a paint brush to professional artists.  Our fun and helpful instructors walk you step-by-step in creating your masterpiece.

What if we take longer than the allotted time?

This applies to both public and private events.  If you choose to paint longer than the time allotted than our instructors are required to charge $5 per person per hour each additional half hour for their time to stay.  Sorry, no exceptions.

What is the Cancellation/Reschedule policy?

Cancellations within 48 hours of class will be given a studio credit for 30 days.  If the credit is not used during the 30 days than the funds would be forfeited.  Sorry, no exceptions.  Cancellations within 24 hours of class will be given a one week studio credit.  Credit must be used or funds will be forfeited.  Sorry, no exceptions.  We know that emergencies, sickness and other events happen, however, the cancellation policy is in place so that we can appropriately plan our classes and space.  There are no exceptions on this policy.

What is the difference in a Private Party and a Regular Class?

Private Parties are just that..private.  So the studio is yours to use during that time.  Private parties have minimums and also get to choose the painting that they do.  Public classes are open to all, so come by yourself or with a group.  Paintings for public classes are preselected and posted online.

What is the minimum age?

Our evening classes are designed for adults and our Saturday kid’s classes are designed for kids. So please keep that in mind when registering.  Our policy requires that children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying and painting adult for our evening classes.  For kids classes, you are welcome to drop and go. Our classes are not designed for infants and attendees must be painting.  The only exception to this is adults that wish to stay and watch their children during kids classes are welcome to do so but during evening classes only painters will be allowed to enter.

What should I wear?

Wear paint appropriate clothing.  Our paints are acrylic and can stain. Masterpiece Mixers takes no responsibility for paint stains so please make sure to dress accordingly.

When should I arrive?

Studio doors open 30 minutes prior to class start time and we highly recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early as our check in process takes a few minutes to get everyone signed in, paint distributed, etc.  Class starts at 7pm so if forty people arrive at two minutes before class it makes it quite difficult so please try to arrive early.
